Sailing Week
A week to enjoy sailing and make new friends
Monday 6th July to Friday 0th July 2026
This week will focus on fun sailing, some cruising, plus social activities. Although this is not an RYA course, some coaching will be available for skills development. Full details will follow in due course as well as any social events for the week.
The days will start at 9.15am and finish at about 5pm, and participants can sign up for one or more days, or the whole week.
You can pay for individual days or for the whole week and we ask you to pre-book to secure your place.
You can also turn up for just the evening meal for a reduced cost.
This event is open to anyone over 18 years of age. Non-members can join with an additional reduced membership fee.
The minimum sailing ability is required that includes rig, launch and recover, sail a triangle course, pick up a buoy, and capsize and recovery.
An experienced RYA coach will be provided to include race strategy, understanding effective use boat controls, mark rounding, wind and weather conditions, rules of racing, race starts, use of symmetric and asymmetric spinnakers, improving sailing skills, all of which will be available to view from video feedback.
Some of the social ideas we are working on include a French themed night, quiz night, and BBQ.
Camping with tents is available including small motorhomes, but excludes caravans.
All participants will be required to help out including rib launch and recovery, kitchen, and bar etc.
